What Truro homeowners say

★★★★★
“We would be pleased to recommend Interlock Roofing to anyone. We chose the Cedar Shake profile and are delighted with the results. The roofing material is high quality and the expertise of the installers is indisputable. We very much appreciated the fact that there were no expensive ‘surprises’ during the installation. The whole job was completed on time and on budget.”
Tim Saxton and Elizabeth J. · Truro, NS · 2020
★★★★★
“I have no problems with anything Interlock Roofing did while they were here. Everything was positive. The installers were very meticulous about their workmanship.”
Anne D. · Truro, NS · 2017
★★★★★
“I will definitely recommend Interlock Roofing.”
Sharon R. · Truro, NS · 2014
★★★★
“Sales person could have followed up and perhaps come to job site to see how things were going. We were spending ALOT of money and it would have been nice to have him check in and perhaps communicate issues we had with the installation crew.”
Earle and Shelly A. · Truro, NS · 2022
★★★★
“Its pricey, but we were extremely happy with our finished roof and glad we made the choice for Interlock. Many of our neighbors have commented positively about the roof, and I have had people literally pull over in their cars to complement it when I am working in the front yard.”
Ronald Fraser and Megan C. · Truro, NS · 2021
★★★★
“Is there someone who comes around and inspects the finished job?---just wondering. I am pleased with the roof and have had positive comments from family/friends. I would however like to have a small repair attended to in my driveway. The dumpster made a mark on my paved driveway. and I'd like it filled in. thank you”

Roofing in Truro: what to plan for

Salt air: aluminum cannot rust

From Halifax Harbour and the South Shore to Yarmouth, the Fundy shore and Cape Breton, much of Nova Scotia lives with salt spray, fog and wind-driven rain, and salt is what wears out steel roofing once its coating is breached. Aluminum forms a thin, tough oxide layer that seals the metal against further corrosion and re-forms if scratched, so an Interlock® roof has no steel core to rust, on the shore or inland.

Atlantic storms, post-tropical storms and wind

Nova Scotia is exposed to Atlantic storms and the remnants of hurricanes, and wind works at shingle tabs and exposed fasteners. Interlock panels lock to each other on all four sides with the fasteners concealed, and wind resistance is warranted to 193 km/h (120 mph) installed to manufacturer specification. No roof is storm-proof: hurricane-force wind damage is a matter for your home insurance, and it is excluded from our labour warranty.

Wet snow, freeze-thaw and ice dams

Nova Scotia winters swing above and below freezing, often with rain on snow. Interlock panels weigh roughly 2 to 3.5 kg per square metre, a fraction of concrete tile, have nothing to crack or soak up water, and let snow slide rather than sit, so we plan snow guards over entries, walkways, decks and the driveway at the quote. Ice dams start with heat escaping into the attic, so we look at insulation and ventilation with you as well.

Century homes, suburbs and cottages

Older homes in Halifax and Dartmouth, newer houses in Bedford, Fall River and Hammonds Plains, century homes in Lunenburg, Wolfville and Annapolis Royal, and cottages on the shore all take the same system. Interlock's Slate, Cedar Shingle and Shake profiles give the look of slate or wood at roughly 2 to 3.5 kg per square metre, a fraction of concrete tile or natural slate. Every profile needs a minimum 3/12 roof slope, and we confirm yours at the consultation.

Condominium complexes

In a Nova Scotia condominium the board of directors of the condominium corporation usually decides on the roof, often with a reserve fund study in hand. We give boards one profile and colour across every building, the product documents they ask for, and both warranties in writing.

Our own crews, from our office in Dartmouth

We install every roof ourselves, from our office in Burnside, Dartmouth, and consultations are on Zoom or at your home anywhere in the province. The manufacturer's Guardian Lifetime Limited Material Warranty and our 10 Year Limited Labour Warranty come with the roof, and after the install, service comes from the same company.
